Taking place completely in Rye, the getting ready for the bride was at The George Hotel whilst the groom and groomsmen got ready at the very famous Mermaid Inn on Mermaid Street. I photographed the bridal preparations while my assistant photographed the groomsmen who also went on to the Ypres Castle Pub to calm some nerves!
The wedding took place at the very historic town hall which is used to be the courtroom. The atmosphere in there was fantastic and all the guests filled the place, some seated and some standing. Once the ceremony was completed the Rye town crier yaled and yaled the news of the new married couple at the top of his voice. He was a true professional. Cars beeped their horns as they passed and onlookers lined the streets as the wedding party processed down to the High Street and in to The George.
The George in typical Rye style has a quintessentially quaint courtyard, where canapés and champagne was served. The wedding breakfast followed in the great hall and later on it was turned round into a party venue for the evening dancing.
Enjoy the shots!
