Locally based photographer Alan Harbord, had cause to celebrate last weekend at The Guild of Professional Photographers Awards.
The Guild which has been in existence since 1988, is a highly respected photographic body dedicated to enhancing skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.
It organises what is potentially the most demanding of annual photographic competitions. Photographers must submit several images a month for assessment over the course of a year, and only those with the highest combined scores at the end of the year are awarded the Guild’s coveted ‘Top 10’ Photographer award!
At its recent Awards night the Guild announced that Alan Harbord had won one of its Top Ten awards for 2013.

Guild Director Steve Thirsk said ‘This is an incredible achievement! With nearly 10,000 images assessed from throughout the UK, Europe and further afield for Alan Harbord to receive a Top Ten award from the Guild is clear evidence of their consistently high standard of photographic skills. Alan Harbord should be very proud of their outstanding achievement - I am not surprised their services are sought after as I can only applaud them!’
