Tunbridge Wells based professional photographer, Alan Harbord ABIPP, has received recognition for his excellence in Wedding photography after being awarded an Associateship by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).

Alan started his business in 2006 and spends half his time on weddings and the other half on commercial and fashion shoots. With a blend of professionalism and integrity, mixed with a warm and engaging nature, Alan is much loved for his photographic style, unobtrusive approach, and passion for fine wedding photography. A keen advocate of marriage, Alan thrives at being part of other people’s special day.

When asked about his achievement Alan said "I am utterly delighted to achieve this qualification today. It is the culmination of a year's work. I love the high standards the BIPP sets which make it a hard but very worthwhile thing to achieve".

BIPP President, Roy Meiklejon FBIPP, stated “BIPP qualifications are among the most rigorous in the world. Qualification with the BIPP requires hard work, determination, commitment and lots of creativity”.

As the qualifying body of professional photography in the UK, BIPP requires any photographer going for qualification to follow strict criteria and provide a substantial portfolio of commissioned work, together with supporting information about themselves as a professional.

Press release - Wedding Photographer Alan Harbord gains International Recognition!

Locally based photographer Alan Harbord, had cause to celebrate last weekend at The Guild of Professional Photographers Awards.

The Guild which has been in existence since 1988, is a highly respected photographic body dedicated to enhancing skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.

It organises what is potentially the most demanding of annual photographic competitions. Photographers must submit several images a month for assessment over the course of a year, and only those with the highest combined scores at the end of the year are awarded the Guild’s coveted ‘Top 10’ Photographer award!

At its recent Awards night the Guild announced that Alan Harbord had won one of its Top Ten awards for 2013.
