Wedding at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells

Last month I had the privilege of photographing again at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells. For those who don't know it, it is named after a load of 'high rocks' believe it or not! Seriously though the rocks are very high and very stunning to walk around. When you climb to the top you can cross between them using the interconnected bridges, which makes for a really unique experience.

The very lovely Steph & Phil celebrated their wedding here and as the weather treated us all so well, part of the photography was on both the lower and the upper rocks.

Brand new materials for wedding albums

Just arrived from Italy. The brand new box of material samples from Graphi - the maker of all my wedding albums.

Now all my wedding couples have an even greater choice than ever of the customisation on their wedding album/s. The choice is nothing short of awe inspiring. Many leather types, many metal types, many other materials you'll have never heard of - each one in a range of different colours.

My favourite new product is enoblements - This is almost like printing in metal rather than ink! See photo. Amazing for text and graphics on the front cover for that ultra unique customisation.

Brand new HD printing and paper types now include fine art paper, 6 other types of art paper, and a further 8 types of paper.

It's so good to see beautiful wedding photography printed using such fine materials, lasting for generations ahead.

Very exciting!

Tenterden Wedding - Part one of two celebrations!

Wedding at Tenterden Town Hall

This was the first part of the nuptials for Cassie and Romain who got married at Tenterden Town Hall, as next month they will be spending a whole weekend celebrating in France! And I look forward to accompanying them and to photographing them in Brittany.

A Very Prestidgious Award!

Some very fantastic news - once again achieved national acclaim!

I have just reached the criteria for membership of the 'Photographers Bar' for the second time, by The Guild of Professional Photographers.

THE GUILD: Membership of the 'Photographers Bar' is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild of Photographers over the course of a year and have attained a score that evidences an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency throughout the full year.

The competition attracts up to 1000 images for judging by an an expert Panel of Judges each month. Points are given to entries and these are then totalled at the end of the year. Those who reach the required threshold are then awarded membership of the 'Photographers Bar'.

That membership of the 'Photographers Bar' is a distinction that is very difficult to achieve - in fact less than 100 photographers have achieved it in the 3 years since its inception, during which time  over 30,000 images will have been entered for assessment by photographers across the UK and from overseas. Alan Has reached this level twice which is very rare!
Guild Director Lesley Thirsk said "I am delighted for Alan as this is a great achievement! Submitting and having images assessed every month for a year and reaching the required standards to become a member of the Photographers Bar is very very demanding. It illustrates his commitment, skill and consistency. He should be very proud of what he has achieved!"

A brand new series of short videos especially for Brides and grooms to be

THE WEDDING SERIES

I wanted to be able to introduce myself to brides and grooms to be on my website, and what better way than with video. I also wanted to provide something which was useful and beneficial to people and so I thought about the questions that people often ask me, and from that created a series of short videos. I call them the wedding series. Right now they are on my YouTube channel and over the next few weeks I'll be integrating them into this website.

I hope you find them really useful and they in some way demystify some of the questions that you have.

Nice to have another feature in Your Kent Wedding. This month's edition out now.
