I have just arrived back from a few days in Prague to find this lovely surprise. The SWPP have reviewed an image that I submitted in May and decided to upgrade it to GOLD status. The level of competition for these awards is fierce so I am delighted. Christmas is here!
I took the image at Westenhanger Castle on a shoot that I ran earlier this year and it was entered into the Weddings Avant Garde category.
I have worked with model Gabriella Knights on several shoots but this one was special as we also needed a male model to play the groom so who better to ask than Gabriella’s real-life fiancee Josh Butler! Professional models can always switch on the chemistry but this time it was genuine. They were kind enough to choose me to shoot their wedding next month and I’m super excited about photographing their big day.

I photographed their engagement shoot in July at Mote Park Maidstone and their wedding in October at Bradbourne House, East Malling.
"Ok, I don't know where to start. Alan Harbord is just one of the nicest people you will ever meet and his work is outstanding and more then that, he captures emotion and freezes those perfect moments forever in way that I've not seen before.
Our wedding day didn't go quite to plan and we ended up missing all of the group and family shots as I, the bride became very unwell. While we were away on our honeymoon, Mr Harbord went above and beyond and arranged a second shoot for us and our families so that we could complete our wedding album.
I don't know if Alan will ever truly know how much that meant to us but it meant everything. We cried when we found out what he had done. Every single photo he took was beautiful and perfect. He's one of those rare people in this world who make you feel instantly at ease and comfortable. His assistant Heidi is just a delight, and Helen his wife is a such a wonderful lady. As a team, they are fantastic and we genuinely can not recommend him more and it's definitely worth going for the best package. We were not disappointed in any way. We will never use another photographer again and am so happy we chose Alan Harbord.
