Hotel Du Vin (HDV) Tunbridge Wells Wedding Fair

This Sunday I had a very much more relaxed stand at the Hotel Du Vin Wedding Fair. I say stand, it was more of a lounge and so provided a really comfortable and relaxed environment for those prospective clients who came and saw my work.

Rain does not spoil the wedding photos - really!

Rain does not spoil the wedding photos!

Everyone agreed that the torrential rain during the lovely wedding of Amanda and James at Frant Church actually enhanced the photos! It brought a sense of urgency and excitement which made for superb reportage style wedding photography.

Being a marquee wedding reception it was fortunate that the weather turned good as afternoon tea was served. The evening was held at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells with more opportunities for great wedding photography.

Surprise testimonials!

Often I ask my brides and grooms after their wedding how I did, and if they thought there is anything I could have done better with my wedding photography. This often results in them sending me a testimonial which is not only lovely but useful for the website.
Sometimes though a phone call or letter comes out of the blue, often members of the bride's or groom's family, expressing their delight in my work. There have many occasions where tears have flown on the first viewing on the wedding book, which in turn nearly has the same effect on me!
The praise you get as a wedding photographer is certainly a very big perk. This email was recently sent to me by the mother of a bride.

"We have just viewed Jenny and Mark's wonderful wedding album.
We would like to thank you for the imaginative and stunning photographs of the progress of their lovely day.  You have managed to catch the happiness that shone from them.
Your work is of the highest quality and we would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who was looking for a wedding photographer."
Thank you again from a very happy mother and father of the bride."

Wedding at The Beacon, Tunbridge Wells

Lisa and Ian had the hottest and the best weather of any day this year - not bad considering the sort of weather we've had! Submariner Ian wore his full regimentals and Lisa was dressed in designer wedding gown 'Maggie Sottero', Lizette.

Getting ready was at the Hotel Du Vin, also in Kent's Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Engagement shot at Knole Park, Sevenoaks

Knole Park, Sevenoaks - Most popular spot for engagement shoots

Of all the destinations I have had requested for engagement shoots, Knole Park in Sevenoaks has been the most popular. Because it is beautiful? Because it has a great mixture of parkland and country views? Well yes of course, but also because it is a very special place the those couples I have photographed there because it was the place of their marriage proposal. Not just to them as it is very special to me too as it is the place of my marriage proposal!

High Rocks Wedding

Great weather for April helped make a truly fabulous day for Wendy and Christopher at The High Rocks Inn just outside Tunbridge Wells, Kent. From the booking stage they were keen to get their wellies on and scale the heights of the famous and ancient rocks. As it happens wellies weren't needed.

Journeying from Tunbridge Wells West Station near the Pantiles, they took steam trains (separate of course) to the High Rocks Inn station.

I enjoyed taking a variety of shots using all the different locations and scenery. A big thanks to Giles the best man who climbed up with us all and held the reflector and various other bits and pieces.

Wedding at the beautiful Pelham House Hotel, Lewis

What a fantastic day and what a miracle of weather. When all the odds are against and certain rain is forecast, it's lovely when there's not a drop; in fact it was a sunny and fairly warm day in Lewis!
I will be posting more images after the bride and groom have seen them and given the go ahead for their wedding book.

April wedding at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells

High Rocks - A dramatic setting for stunning photography

What a fabulous day Wendy and Christopher had last weekend! With all this turbulent weather of late, no one was sure quite how it would be on the big day. From the point of booking they were keen to get their wellies on and climb to the top of the rocks for the couple photos. I was delighted with the idea and embraced it wholeheartedly!

But that wasn't the only interesting feature of the day. Their journeys to the venue were by steam train which stops right by the High Rocks Inn.

I took a variety of shots using different aspects of the location, whilst my second photographer/ assistant Mark covered things from a different angle, and took a few of me in action. A big thanks to Giles the best man who climbed up with us all and held the reflector and various other bits and pieces.
